Let’s see, where do I begin. Todd and I were co-workers a few years ago. He used to come into my office and go on and on about his girlfriend Megan. It was always Megan this and Megan that, but no one in the office ever met her since she lived in Texas. We started to think Megan was his imaginary girlfriend and gave him a really hard time about it. So finally, he showed us a picture!

Fast forward to today, Megan and Todd are happily engaged and planning their fabulous wedding this October at the Fairmont Newport Beach. They were in town for a few days so we headed down to Laguna Beach for a fun engagement session.

Can’t wait till October to see you guys again!

San Juan Capistrano Engagement | Charity + Romben

This was a special engagement session. Why? Charity wore her actual wedding gown! We met up in San Juan Capistrano over the weekend for this super fun shoot. The beautiful bouquet from Fantasy Floral Designs completed Charity’s vintage look. I can’t wait to photography your wedding in Temecula next month!

There won’t be a couture gown, elaborate flowers, or designer suits at their wedding and they wouldn’t want it any other way. Danielle and Mike are special and the two of them represents the true essence of marriage. Their wedding will be a wedding stripped down to it’s core meaning…marriage and a lifetime of being a family.

Danielle and Mike are both residents at the Orange County Rescue Mission. They are living in two different facilities now because they are not married. Their wish is to finish their programs at the Mission together as a family and I couldn’t be happier to help make it happen. Michelle of Mele Amore Events and I met with Danielle and Mike for their consultation and were both brought to tears by the way Mike talked about Danielle and their family. They are extraordinary people and we look forward to their wedding at the OC Rescue Mission this August. Here is my first black and white only engagement session per the couple’s request.

maui, hawaii engagement | makawao | beth + rich

Tim and I had a few days on Maui after Midori and Kenny’s amazing Haiku Mill wedding. We went to Upcountry Maui to a little town called Makawao for a little sight seeing and shopping. Totally by chance, Beth was working in a cute little boutique on Baldwin Ave and just happen to mention her recent engagement. I debated for all of 2 seconds before I asked her about doing an engagement session. Without hesitation, she said yes! I told her I only had one request and it was to not shoot at the beach. As beautiful as Maui beaches are, I wanted something different.

We started the engagement session at Oskie Rice Rodeo Arena off of Olinda Road then made our way into the sugar cane fields. I seriously can shoot all day with the beautiful Maui sun. Here are just some of my favorites.

Thanks Beth and Rich for this super fun session, hopefully we will be back for more Maui weddings!

Ever since Tim and I were married on Maui 3 years ago, it’s been a dream for us to go back. Since Serena and I had a wedding to photograph together, we got to bring our husbands with us to Maui.

We took a quick trip to the Seawatch Restaurant now known as Gannon’s Wailea to reminisce about our wedding day.

Some advice for anyone thinking about a destination wedding…do it! We had the most amazing wedding surrounded by only close family and friends. It was totally stress free and the scenery was magical. Having an amazing wedding also helped. Evonne took care of everything, all I had to do was show up

Also a quick shout out to Dan Sanchez and Jessica Waite who did my hair and makeup on Maui. It was so nice to work with them again on this trip. Wait until you see that blog post!

Condor’s Nest Ranch in Pala, Ca | Film

So I finally got my film back from the awesome film shoot at The Condor’s Nest Ranch and I’m super excited to share. What started as a little get together project with a few photographer friends quickly grew into a big production. Big thanks to Lisa and Bob from The Condor’s Nest Ranch for letting us shoot at your amazing wedding venue. Here are just a few of my favorite images from the day.

A lot of people are curious about how I started in this industry so here is my story.

In 2003 while I was going to FIDM for Merchandising Product Development, I interviewed for a job at WeddingChannel.com. I’ve always been fascinated by weddings and at one point, thought about being a gown designer. I was super nervous for the interview, but everything went well and I started my first day there on March 17, 2003 as the Wedding Shop Merchandiser. So what exactly did I do? My job was to photograph all the products that were sold through WeddingChannel.com’s Wedshop. You can still see a few photos on theKnot.com right now! Follow this LINK.

I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am today without working at WeddingChannel.com. ..

My first bridal shoot was on top of the building’s roof with Vera Wang gowns.
I got to meet Robert Evans and watch him shoot at his studio.
Practiced shooting with the best models/coworkers!

Slowly, I started to photograph more people and the rest is history. I shot my very first wedding in 2005 and haven’t stopped since. Here are just a few from way back when…

This was from my very first wedding- ever. I was hired for about 3 hours to cover the ceremony and reception at I can’t even tell you how much I was paid.
