It was a year ago when I emailed Dolly Thicke of Dolly Couture about a photoshoot I was putting together at the Pacific Edge Hotel. Ever since that little shoot, we’ve become great friends! I was super excited when Dolly asked if I would shoot her entire Dolly Couture collection so her website can have a fresh new look. I love commercial shoots especially when there are 5 gorgeous brides!

Dolly rented this amazing home in Hollywood for the day and hired top notch hair and makeup artists who specialized in vintage looks. To top it off, Joanna Konjevod- stylist from America’s Next Top Model was our fashion stylist. Joanna’s collection of shoes, accessories, and jewelry will make any girl drool.

So I finally got my film back from the awesome film shoot at The Condor’s Nest Ranch and I’m super excited to share. What started as a little get together project with a few photographer friends quickly grew into a big production. Last week, I photographed my friend Lisa at her beautiful ranch in Pala called Condor’s Nest Ranch. I thought it would be fun to play with the Holga Tim got me for my birthday so here are the images. Still need to figure out how to expose properly, but considering I only got 8 photos from the first roll, this is already an improvement!

jomygoodness : where passion meets planning

Her name is Jomylene Flores and the writer/planner behind jomygoodness.com. She describes herself as an event planner, blogger, busy gal, and mom. I’m not sure how she does it, but she sure makes it look easy! We met up for coffee and some fun headshots last week at the Orange Circle and ended up chatting for hours. A lot of people are curious about how I started in this industry so here is my story.

In 2003 while I was going to FIDM for Merchandising Product Development, I interviewed for a job at WeddingChannel.com. I’ve always been fascinated by weddings and at one point, thought about being a gown designer. I was super nervous for the interview, but everything went well and I started my first day there on March 17, 2003 as the Wedding Shop Merchandiser. So what exactly did I do? My job was to photograph all the products that were sold through WeddingChannel.com’s Wedshop. You can still see a few photos on theKnot.com right now! Follow this LINK.

I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am today without working at WeddingChannel.com. ..

My first bridal shoot was on top of the building’s roof with Vera Wang gowns.
I got to meet Robert Evans and watch him shoot at his studio.
Practiced shooting with the best models/coworkers!

Slowly, I started to photograph more people and the rest is history. I shot my very first wedding in 2005 and haven’t stopped since. Here are just a few from way back when…

This was from my very first wedding- ever. I was hired for about 3 hours to cover the ceremony and reception at I can’t even tell you how much I was paid.

Pinup Girls | Redondo Beach Portraits

Pretty models, cute clothes, and my new 50mm had a photo date at the Ultra Lux Salon and Lounge in Redondo Beach. I was really looking forward to this shoot because I got to play with lighting. Typically I shoot in all natural light, but I think I might be addicted to studio lighting now! Here are a few images from this super fun shoot.
